| Civic Room, located at 770 Harmston Avenue, Courtenay, BC commencing at 1:00 pm. The chair of the commission will preside over the meeting according to the CVRD procedure bylaw. This meeting may include participation by members of the commission via electronic communication. This meeting is not meant for general public input. If members of the public wish to speak at a meeting, they should contact the CVRD Legislative Services Department to request to appear as a delegation. | 3) | TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES OPTIONS ANALYSIS AS PART OF COMOX VALLEY WATER POLLUTION CONTROL CENTRE SITE MASTER PLANNING WORK AND VALUE MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP | |||||
Report dated September 13, 2022 regarding the phase one assessment of wastewater treatment technologies completed as part of the Comox Valley Water Pollution Control Centre (CVWPCC) site master planning work and to recommend completion of a value management process for receipt. [Item] | ||||||
Recommendation #1: | ||||||
THAT based on the results of the treatment technologies review completed by AECOM and as presented within the report titled Evaluation of Process Options for Future Secondary Treatment Expansions, attached as Appendix A to the staff report dated September 13, 2022, the Comox Valley Water Pollution Control Centre continue to utilize conventional activated sludge treatment technology to achieve secondary treatment of all wastewater flows. | ||||||
Recommendation #2: | ||||||
THAT the 2022-2026 financial plan and capital expenditure program for the Comox Valley Sewerage Service, functions 335-338, be amended in the 2022 budget year by increasing Other Professional Fees expenses by $150,000, to be funded by a corresponding transfer from the Future Expenditure reserve for the service, for the completion of a value management process as part of the Comox Valley Water Pollution Control Centre site master planning work. | ||||||
