The chair of the committee will preside over the meeting according to the CVRD procedure bylaw. This meeting may include participation by members of the committee via electronic communication.
This meeting is not meant for general public input. If members of the public wish to speak at a meeting, they should contact the CVRD Legislative Services Department to request to appear as a delegation. Live webcasts and recordings are available at www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/minutes-agendas
In the event of an emergency the public gathering place is the parking lot outside the Civic Room.
The committee will adjourn to an in-camera session at 11:30 am and reconvene its open session at 12:30 pm

THAT Innovation, Science, and Economic Development (ISED) Canada be advised that Telus Communications Inc. and SitePath Consulting Ltd. have provided the Comox Valley Regional District with the results of their public engagement and is seeking concurrence that the required public consultation process has been undertaken for the proposed telecommunications tower on the property described as Lot 189, Comox District, Except the North West ¼ Thereof and Part in Plans 16118 and 2121, PID 003-871-895 (1388 Ellenor Road);
AND FINALLY THAT, as local governments are limited in their ability to regulate telecommunications towers and Telus Communications Inc. and SitePath Consulting Ltd. have addressed applicable bylaws and policies, including our Telecommunication Antenna System Application and Consultation Process Policy, the Board authorize staff to submit a letter of concurrence to ISED Canada which encourages that public health concerns be addressed; K’ómoks First Nation be engaged regarding the possible need for a Cultural Heritage Investigation Permit; a Qualified Environmental Professional be involved to mitigate environmental impacts; and that Telus further explore siting the tower in the northeastern corner of the property per comments from the Advisory Planning Commissions and Parks department. | 208 and 213 | A, B, C | Weighted |
