COMOX VALLEY RECREATION COMMISSION

Civic Room, located at 770 Harmston Avenue, Courtenay, BC commencing at 2:00 pm.

The chair of the committee will preside over the meeting according to the CVRD procedure bylaw. This meeting may include participation by members of the committee via electronic communication.

Recommendation #1:
 
THAT the 2023-2027 recommended financial plan for the Recreation Grant service, function 600, include $18,000 in conditional grants to local agencies in 2023 for cricket capital upgrades to a community field, subject to appropriate site selection, to be funded by a reduction in the special games and events contribution.

Recommendation #2:
 
THAT the 2023-2027 recommended financial plan for the Recreation Grant Service, function 600, include a further $75,000 in conditional grants to local agencies in 2023 to support leak repair engineering design work for the Courtenay and District Memorial Outdoor pool, as requested by the City of Courtenay, to be funded by a corresponding increase in the 2023 tax requisition;


AND FURTHER THAT staff work with the City of Courtenay in 2023 to confirm their long-term plans for the Courtenay and District Outdoor Memorial Pool prior to further funding requests being considered in support of this facility.
