NOTICE OF MEETING
COMOX VALLEY WATER COMMITTEE
Tuesday, February 27, 2024
Civic Room, located at 770 Harmston Avenue, Courtenay, BC commencing at 2:15 pm.

The chair of the committee will preside over the meeting according to the CVRD procedure bylaw. This meeting may include participation by members of the committee via electronic communication.

This meeting is not meant for general public input. If members of the public wish to speak at a meeting, they should contact the CVRD Legislative Services Department to request to appear as a delegation. Live webcasts and recordings are available at www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/minutes-agendas

All committee motions will be voted on using weighted votes as determined under Bylaw No. 1783.

In the event of an emergency the public gathering place is the parking lot outside the Civic Room.

D. REPORTS:
1) DRAFT CONSERVATION PLAN FOR LANDS AT COMOX LAKE AND PERSEVERANCE CREEK
 
Report dated February 14, 2024 regarding the draft conservation plan for the lands at Comox Lake and Perseverance Creek (formerly known as the Coal Beach property) for receipt. [Item] 
 
Recommendation:
 
THAT the draft Conservation Plan for Lands at Comox Lake and Perseverance Creek, as attached to the staff report dated February 14, 2024, be received;

AND THAT staff be directed to work with the Village of Cumberland and the Cumberland Community Forest Society to bring the draft Conservation Plan forward for further collaborative dialogue with K'ómoks First Nation;

AND FINALLY THAT staff report back to the Water Committee on recommended next steps upon receiving guidance from K’ómoks First Nation.
