E. Grieve/V. Brown: THAT the report dated May 2, 2024 regarding a request from K’ómoks First Nation for financial support towards the upcoming National Indigenous People’s Day celebrations to be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 be received. [Item] |

K. Douville, Manager of Financial Planning, provided an overview of the report regarding a request from K’ómoks First Nation for financial support towards the upcoming National Indigenous People’s Day celebrations. |   |

D. Arbour/V. Brown: THAT a contribution to K’ómoks First Nation in the amount of $20,000 to support National Indigenous People’s Day celebrations in the Comox Valley to be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 be approved;
AND THAT the 2024 – 2028 financial plan for the Electoral Area B and C Heritage Conservation Services, functions 692 and 693, be amended with the addition of a transfer from each service’s future expenditure reserve in the amount of $6,666.67 to be offset by a corresponding transfer to other governments;
AND FURTHER THAT the 2024 – 2028 financial plan for the Administration and General Government service, functions 110, be amended with the addition of a transfer from the future expenditure reserve in the amount of $6,666.66 to be offset by a corresponding transfer to other functions directed to the Electoral Area A Heritage Conservation Service, function 691 (this amount is to be reimbursed by function 691 as part of the 2025 – 2029 financial plan);
AND FINALLY THAT the 2024 – 2028 financial plan for the Electoral Area A Heritage Conservation Service, function 691, be amended in the 2024 budget year with the addition of a recoveries – other functions in the amount of $6,666.66 to be offset by a corresponding transfer to other governments.

Hillian: THAT the Agricultural Land Commission be advised that the Comox Valley Regional District supports Agricultural Land Reserve application ALR 5C 23 (Sturdi Construction Ltd.) concerning Lot 4, Block 29, Comox District, Plan 5224, except those parts in Plans 13319, 40101 and VIP78957 (8150 Island Highway / 2040 Dzini Road);
AND FINALLY THAT the application ALR 5C 23 (Sturdi Construction Ltd.) regarding non-farm use within the Agricultural Land Reserve be forwarded to the Agricultural Land Commission for final consideration. |
