SELECTION OF CHAIR
With the unanimous consent of the committee, Peter Gibson assumed the role of presiding member in the absence of Chair Pacholuk.
 
 
CALL TO ORDER AND RECOGNITION OF TRADITIONAL TERRITORIES
The Acting-Chair acknowledged that the meeting was being held on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.

REPORTS
DEVELOPMENT VARIANCE PERMIT - 1402 SEAVIEW ROAD (LEE)
 
 
D. Thiessen, Planner, provided an overview of the memorandum dated June 29, 2022 regarding Development Variance Permit – 1402 Seaview Road (Lee) to reduce the front yard setback from 4.5 metres to 3.5 metres for a proposed carport. [Item
 
 
B. Thompson/M. Presley: THAT the Area C Advisory Planning Commission support Development Variance Permit DV 5C 22 – 1402 Seaview Road (Lee) as proposed in the memorandum dated June 29, 2022 for the following reasons:

- the proposed carport is in keeping with the character of the property;
- it is unlikely to cause a direct upset to the neighbours or neighbourhood; and
- sight is not affected as the setback to the structure from the road is approximately 25 feet.
 
 
STATUS UPDATE ON APC RECOMMENDATIONS
 
 
T. Trieu, Manager of Planning Services, provided an update regarding Electoral Area Services Committee and board decisions related to APC recommendations.
