Minutes of the meeting of the Electoral Areas Services Committee held on December 19, 2022 in the Civic Room of the Comox Valley Regional District offices located at 770 Harmston Avenue, Courtenay, BC commencing at 10:00 am.

PRESIDING MEMBER:
In accordance with the Terms of Reference, the election of the chair and vice-chair shall occur at the first meeting in 2023. As the elected vice-chair for 2022, Director Grieve served as the presiding member for this meeting.

The Vice-Chair acknowledged that the meeting was being held on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.

Hardy: THAT the Comox Valley Regional District Board approve issuance of a Temporary Use Permit (TUP 1B 22) for a term of three years to permit a commercial recycling and bottle depot on property described as Lot 1, District Lot 229, Comox District, Plan 38888, PID 000-015-024 (1729 Ryan Road East);

AND FINALLY THAT the Board authorize the Corporate Legislative Officer to execute the Temporary Use Permit once the applicant has:
1. provided a written acknowledgement that the applicant has read, understood and agreed to the conditions of the permit; and
2. obtained a building permit(s) for the “bottle depot” and “site office” buildings as shown on the site layout prepared by McElhanney, dated September 20, 2022.
