CALL TO ORDER AND RECOGNITION OF TRADITIONAL TERRITORIES
J. Martens, General Manager of Corporate Services, called the meeting to order and acknowledged that the meeting was being held on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.
 
 
SELECTION OF CHAIR AND RECORDING SECRETARY
Gerry McClintock was selected as Chair of the Area A Advisory Planning Commission.

Mike Obal was selected as Recording Secretary of the Area A Advisory Planning Commission.
 
 
REPORTS
REZONING APPLICATION RZ 1A 22 – 3655 TRENT ROAD (VON SCHILLING)
 
 
B. Chow, Planner II, provided an overview of the memorandum dated January 25, 2023 regarding Rezoning Application RZ1A 22 - 3655 Trent Road (von Schilling) for a two lot subdivision under Section 514 of the Local Government Act (Subdivision to Provide a Residence for a Relative). [Item
 
 
Dan and Deb von Schilling, applicants, were in attendance.
 
 
C. Brown/B. Thompson: THAT the Agricultural Advisory Planning Commission not support the Rezoning Application RZ1A 22 - 3655 Trent Road (von Schilling) as proposed in the memorandum dated January 25, 2023 for the following reasons:

- Options are in place for a secondary dwelling of up to 90 square metres in floor area or an addition to the existing single detached dwelling to accommodate the applicant's needs;
- Degradation of the property to be a viable farm by subdividing into two smaller lots.

STATUS UPDATE ON APC RECOMMENDATIONS
 
 
Staff confirmed the process of providing updates regarding Electoral Area Services Committee and board decisions related to APC recommendations.
