REPORTS | | DEVELOPMENT VARIANCE PERMIT DV 3B 23 – 2100 JUNE ROAD (HANSEN) |   |
|
C. Marsh, Planner, provided an overview of the letter dated May 5, 2023 regarding Development Variance Permit DV 3B 23 – 2100 June Road (Hansen) to increase the height of an accessory building from 7.0 metres to 7.55 metres. [Item] |   |
|
Bryce Hansen, owner, and George Wiebe, owner's representative, were in attendance. |   |
|
A. de Burgh Whyte/A. Gibson: THAT the Area B Advisory Planning Commission support the Development Variance Permit DV 3B 23 – 2100 June Road (Hansen) application as proposed in the letter dated May 5, 2023 for the following reasons:
- When dealing with the natural average grade by adding backfill, it was necessary to have proper septic and drainage and to have a secure foundation;
- The applicants did their best to stay within the height of the accessory building;
- The neighbours are not affected as the development is in a forest area and not inhibiting any views, while the setbacks are also appropriate;
- Work is being stopped while the applicants are waiting to get the retroactive survey;
- The extra height is necessary so that the owner’s boat will actually fit into the accessory building.
